What is the standard length of a contract?
Wagner agreements range from 30-day public warehouse agreements to contract distribution agreements for up to five years. There are many factors that impact the appropriate contract length such as real estate considerations, labor needs, and capital investment requirements.

What is split month storage?
It is a method a public warehouse may use to charge for storage or facility costs. When a pallet is received at the warehouse an Original charge is assessed based upon when in the month (first half or second half) it arrives. In other words, if the pallet arrives in the first half of the month, it is assessed a full charge. If it arrives in the second half of the month, it is assessed a half or split charge. A Renewal charge is also assessed at the end of each month on any pallet in inventory. Public warehouses use a table to determine the appropriate split-month rate based upon the expected turns of the inventory.

What are typical accessorial charges?
Minimum storage per month: $300.00, minimum charge per receipt: $30.00, stretch wrap of pallets: $2.85 per pallet

What is Warehousemen’s Legal Liability insurance?
It limits the warehouses legal liability on products to 100 times the month storage rate. So, if the storage charge per month is $4.00, then the warehouse is only liable for $400 of value and only if the damage or loss is due to the warehouse’s negligence to provide reasonable care. If the customer so chooses, Wagner can increase its insured levels as needed.

How does Wagner charge its customers for warehousing services?
Wagner can use 1) traditional transactional charges based on pallet and case volume, 2) contract pricing on a cost-plus basis, or 3) a combination of the two in which there a fixed and a variable component which reduces risk for volume volatility and its impact on risk.
